Myrmecia Pyriformis

Myrmecia Pyriformis, also known as the inch ant Is like any other Myrmecia, residing in Australia. It is extremely abundant in many major cities but mostly spotted in the East.

Queens can reach up to sizes of 24-26mm, their huge compound eyes paired with their potent sting and clamp like mandibles gives Pyriformis a dangerous reputation. It’s extremely aggressive nature means they can be tricky to keep, so this species is advised for experianced keepers only.

Myrmecia Pyriformis love the heat and enjoy building their nests underground in extremely arid areas.

Substrate is required, aswell as a constant supply of water and a high temperature of around 27C
