Myrmicaria Brunnea, also known as the bicoloured arch ant or drop-tail ant, can be easily distinguished by their distinct red shape and odd proportions and stature.

Typically found in the region of South East Asia, the down curved abdomen and spiked thorax makes them look like work of the devil. They do possess a sharp bite and a potent acid spray but this should not be any danger to humans and will only be used in defense of there nest or to subdue prey.

Brunnea form impressive colonies that will typically prefer a humid environment, nesting in soil in the wild.

As they are Asian, high humidity and moderate temperature work best.

Keep water in constant supply, aswell as food, as these ants grow quite quick!
